Firefox Blog Editor ScribeFire Announces Ad Solution
ScribeFire is a wonderful add-on for Firefox that allows users to post to their blogs without the hassle of logging into the admin panel. It currently supports 15 different blogging services, including WordPress, Drupal and LiveJournal. ScribeFire launched in June of 2008 and has had a number of subsequent releases which have added additional functionality. Once it is configured, ScribeFire allows you to quickly launch a ScribeFire window within Firefox where you can compose your post using advanced features like the ability to drag and drop formatted text into the post from the web.
The add-on also handles uploading and inserting images and other media into the post body quite nicely. ScribeFire also plays nice with YouTube and Flickr, giving users a super easy way to embed images and videos from the two biggest players in online video and photos respectively.
On July 1st, ScribeFire announced a very powerful feature. A self described “new chapter for ScribeFire” that they are calling ‘QuickAds’.
QuickAds allows you to add a fully optimized banner ad to your blog without adding a single line of code
In short, I really like ScribeFire and I am excited to see what new features they roll out over the next few months. It is still quite young, but is proving to be a powerful tool for content creators.
If you blog, and use Firefox 3 (which you should…) than give it a whirl.
